Acle has 24/7 access to defibrillator.
A large donation from Acle & Brundall Lions Club has enabled us to buy a secure, purpose built box to house the AED that Acle High School have kindly provided for use by the community.
The AED is located on the front of what used to be the caretakers bungalow in the school grounds. Any member of the public who is trained in the use of an AED and requires it for a cardiac arrest scenario, can contact the Ambulance service on 999 and request the code to open the cabinet.
When a person collapses and goes into cardiac arrest there is a small window of opportunity to defibrillate that collapsed victim. If a defibrillator is at hand the chances of survival will increase by 10% for every minute that the unit is there prior to the arrival of the Ambulance Crew.

The training takes 2-3 hrs and will include basic CPR with the use of the defibrillator. If you are interested in attending one of the training sessions then please contact Acle First Responders on 07793 807 909 or email acle@respondersuk.org

A big thankyou to Acle & Brundall Lions who have donated £1000 to our group, this money will be used to make the defribrilator that Acle High School has just purchased availible for 24/7 use by trained members of the public.
This ensures that a AED will soon be availible in the viallge even if a first responder is not on duty.
We will soon be running a half day training course to teach people how to do CPR and use the AED. If you would like to register your interest please email acle@respondersuk.org
Thank you letter received

Dear Sir/Madam
Last Thursday (……), my wife, was taken ill at ………….. Due to an underlying condition there was a real concern about her developing cardio vascular difficulties. She became ill and an ambulance was called. The Acle First Responders attended. She was eventually taken to the ……………. Hospital from where she was later released.
I would like to put on record my gratitude for the actions of the First Responder. He was very quickly on scene and was able to make an immediate assessment of her condition. I know that the training and equipment provided a real safeguard at the earliest point but also feel that the value of the reassurance provided cannot be overstated.
We would like to make a small donation to the Acle Responders along with passing on our sincere thanks.
Yours faithfully

We would like to thank St Mary's Masonic Lodge in Great Yarmouth for their sizable donation to Acle First Responders. It is because of donations like this that we can purchase vital equipment to keep the group active and the responders safe
